Longaberger Woven Traditions Beverageware
Craftsmanship
• Inspired by the timeless charm of Woven Traditions Pottery.

Care

Function

• The non-porous surface prevents stains or odor absorption.
• Because tumblers are made in molds that open and close, seams are a normal part of the product. To minimize the seams, they have been worked into the design and fire polished as smoothly as the process will allow without eliminating the details in the design.
• Embossed details are avoided near the rim in order to keep the lip area clean. As a result, any visible seam is more evident in this area.

Craftsmanship
• Subtle satin finish on 4.2 mm gauge, 18⁄10 Stainless Steel.
• Polished and buffed fork tines.
• Knife contains a forged high carbon steel blade for a sharp, long-lasting cutting edge.
• Balanced design feels comfortable in the hand while cutting, piercing or serving.

Quality
• 18⁄10 Stainless Steel is the best quality stainless steel available. It contains 18% chromium that provides resistance to staining rusting and corrosion, and 10% nickel produces luster and shine.
• The heavy 4.2 mm gauge offers extra thickness and weight to give flatware a great “hand” feel.
• The smooth finish looks beautiful and allows food particles to be washed away easily.

Care
• All flatware is stain resistant and dishwasher safe.
• Avoid using detergents containing lemon, as they can cause harm to flatware surfaces.
• Wash flatware after each use. Prolonged contact with harsh acidic food can cause discoloration and corrosion. Never let your flatware soak overnight.
• Wash stainless steel separately from aluminum, sterling or sliver plate.
• If discoloration develops due to hardwater, use a stainless steel cleaner and follow its instructions for use.

Function

Longaberger High Quality Stoneware
Features
• Longaberger offers only the finest Stoneware Pottery and is fired at high temperatures to achieve a bisque quality and to assure durability.
• Although it is fired to a lower temperature than vitrified pottery, the clay body has a 2-4% absorption rate anywhere that it is not covered by glaze.
• The lower firing temperature allows a much broader glaze color palette, allowing fresh, new hand painted decorations that are not possible for vitrified pottery. The composition of stoneware allows for highly detailed and brightly colored designs.
• Our stoneware is safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher.

Good Things to Know
• After the first firing, the bisque is decorated to exact Longaberger design specifications and colors.
• A second firing process seals in the color and then a third firing takes place with glazing applied to finish the stoneware pottery
• Each piece is quality controlled and inspected at the factory origin.
• Our Stoneware accessories are lead free and comply with FDA and Prop 65 rules and regulations.
• The backstamp on each item distinguishes whether or not the item is vitrified pottery or high quality stoneware. The High Quality Stoneware backstamp states that the item is microwave and dishwasher safe, while the Vitrified Backstamp states that the item is oven, microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe.

Care
Why can’t I use my high quality stoneware in the oven? Even though Longaberger’s Stoneware has been fired to a low absorption rate, some water from dishwashing can still be absorbed through the unglazed surfaces of the pottery in an oven, it will expand, causing stresses within the pottery. Overtime these stresses can lead to premature cracking, chipping, or crazing

Care
Dust regularly, using a soft cloth.
Clean using a mild soap and damp cloth, do not use products containing bleach on the wrought iron.
Although sealed from the elements, your wrought iron accessory could use an occasional application of furniture polish to help prevent the formation of rust. However, if rust appears use a fine steel wool to polish off the rusted area.
If using your wrought iron accessory in humid conditions, we recommend using Johnson’s® Floor Wax or Future® Floor Wax.

Longaberger Baskets®
Features
• Made with double maple weaving and some have reinforced bottoms.
• Handmade in the USA and signed and dated by Basketmakers.
• Marked with the Longaberger logo that authenticates the proud tradition of quality and craftsmanship.

Benefits
• Maple is very strong and has great impact strength, making all Longaberger Baskets durable.
• The double maple weaving and reinforced bottoms provide added sturdiness.
• Longaberger craftspeople take great pride in their work and their signature is their personal indication of that pride and quality.

Care
• Use warm water and mild soap to gently remove soil from weaving. Allow to air dry.
• For stubborn soil on your basket, use Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with mild soap. Do not scrub as basket stain may fade. Air Dry.
• Avoid direct sunlight to reduce color fading and do not store near heating vents or damp areas to avoid drying and warping.

Good Things to Know
• Warm Brown stain is neutral and blends nicely with any fabric or decor. It provides richness and warmth to any room. Mix and match our Warm Brown stain with Rich Brown and Deep Brown.
• Basket Repair Kits and Stain Pens are available on Supply Order.

Longaberger Basket Bottoms

Features:
• Solid wood bottoms are made from a variety of hardwoods and can be sculpted into ornate shapes due to their thickness.
• Board bottoms are made from hardwood plywoods.
• Kerf bottoms have a groove slotted on the side that holds weaves in place and do not require tacks.
• Open weave and reinforced bottoms allow for functionality, stability and air flow.

Benefits:
• Reinforcements and boards create stability and strength.
• Both solid wood and board bottom baskets allow for the basket to rest on flat surfaces.

Care:
• For solid woods and board bottoms, use mild soap and water to gently clean. Dry with a clean cloth.
• Kerf bottoms that are finished with a WoodCrafts finish should be cleaned with furniture polish, spraying the polish on the cloth, not directly on the kerf bottom.

Good Things to Know:
• Board bottoms should come with felt feet (available through Supply Order or at any home improvement store) to help protect surfaces that may be scratched due to exposed tack heads.

Longaberger Woodcrafts

Features
• Made of maple.
• Finished with a water-based finish.
• Produced using narrow pieces of wood glued together.
• Come in a variety of designs.
• Lids are decorated in a variety of ways.

Benefits
• Maple is durable and beautiful.
• The finish is furniture quality.
• The construction reduces warping.
• Decorative lids allow for more personalization, interest and functionality.
• Shelves complement Wrought Iron pieces and fit with any décor.

Care
• Clean using furniture polish applied to a soft cloth.
• Warm water and mild soap can also be used if immediately wiped dry.
• Avoid direct sunlight to reduce fading.
• Engraved and heat transfer lids can be cleansed using the same methods as regular lids. Lids with decorative inserts (like metal or ceramic) may require another method, depending on the material used.
• Do not place shelves over an air vent.

Good Things to Know

• Use of red maple, a softer grade of maple, is used occasionally.
• Lids are made to fit the averages of baskets, allowing for variances.
• Lids utilize wood to its fullest, providing a wide range of color and markings.
• Heat transfers are applied using heat and pressure. The heat actually infuses the transfer onto the finish, making it very durable.
• Engraved lids will vary in depth and darkness, depending on the density of the wood fibers

Longaberger Pottery

Vitrified Pottery

Features
• Vitrified, non-porous body created from special raw materials and extreme firing temperatures.
• High quality glazes.
• Exclusive ball and petal motif and embossed weave pattern.
• Available in décor-friendly colors.

Benefits
• Vitreous pottery is stronger than typical stoneware so it resists chipping, cracking, and crazing better. It is safe for the dishwasher, oven, microwave, and freezer.
• High quality glazes provide a beautiful yet durable finish that makes clean up a breeze.
• Trademark designs and logos symbolize our commitment to high quality, longlasting pieces that coordinate with both Pottery and Fabric pieces.
• Pottery colors coordinate perfectly with any decorating style for everyday use, and can be dressed up for formal entertaining. It allows customers to mix and match with the comfort of knowing that their pottery complements each piece and adds a splash of color.

Care
• For baked-on goods, allow the pottery to soak in hot, soapy water and clean with a non-abrasive scouring pad.
• Using metal utensils, such as beaters or whisks, can cause black / gray marks (called metal marks) to form on the surface of the pottery because the crystals in our glaze are harder than the metal in the utensils. To remove these marks, use a non-abrasive cleaner such as Bar Keeper’s Friend or Zud.
• Even though our pottery goes through an extra foot polishing step, scratches may still occur due to stacking or use. These marks will show as a white line that contrasts with the glaze color.
• Do not use Longaberger Pottery on top of the stove, under the broiler, or over an open flame. Avoid extreme temperature changes; pottery pieces can safely be taken from the refrigerator and placed directly into a preheated oven or from the freezer to a cold oven for heating.

Good Things to Know
• Most pottery pieces are hand finished to remove mold seams, giving them that hand-touched, quality finish.
• Place your pottery in the freezer or oven prior to serving to keep cold foods cold or hot foods hot.
• Solid Color Pottery requires more glaze to be applied to achieve the rich color and is fired on its foot (free from glaze) to avoid sticking to the kiln shelf during firing.
• Pottery that has been heated up to temperatures of 400º F can be safely placed directly into Longaberger Baskets. Pottery that is 300º For less can be safely placed into baskets with liners. Hot pottery should not be placed directly into a plastic protector.
• Your Longaberger pottery is oven safe, which means it can go from room temperature to a hot oven or from a refrigerator to a cold oven. It is not oven proof, which allows for an item to go from freezer to hot oven and withstand extreme temperature changes quickly.
• Unglazed areas are completely food safe as all Longaberger Pottery pieces are fully vitrified. There is no porosity in the fired clay body, so there is no place for bacteria to grow, even in unglazed areas.
• Pottery making is similar to basket making in two critical ways: there are variations in the raw materials since they’re obtained from nature, and many of the processes used to make the pottery are still done by hand. This means that no two pieces of pottery are exactly alike.
• Variations in design, color, and texture help ensure that each piece is unique in character and a true one-of-a-kind Longaberger collectible.
• Longaberger Pottery, like our hand-made baskets, are made to be used, cherished, and handed down.

Longaberger Basket® Protectors

Longaberger offers two kinds of protectors: Thermoformed protectors and Injection Molded protectors.

Features
Thermoformed
• Protectors are made of a clear plastic material with a weave pattern on the outside.
• Single, Divided or Stackable protectors are available using thermoformed plastics.
Injection Molded
• Designed primarily for food or organization uses, injection molded protectors are made from a different type of plastic than thermoformed, and is thicker to ensure quality and safe use in the dishwasher.
• Styles include Single, Divided and Lidded.

Benefits:
Thermoformed
• Protectors protect and help organize the interior of your basket.
• They are clear so that the fabric liner can be seen.
• The weave pattern makes these protectors distinctly Longaberger.
Injection Molded
• Provide alternative uses not possible with thermoformed. The Lidded Protectors are examples of these design innovations.

Care:
Thermoformed
• Hand wash with warm water and dry.
• To maintain their shape, avoid leaving protectors in a car or other exposed location for prolonged periods; excessive heat or cold may affect performance.
Injection Molded
• These protectors are more rigid than thermoformed protectors; avoid dropping on hard surfaces.

Good Things to Know
Thermoformed
• Designed to allow enough space for a liner to fit.
• Made with food-grade safe recyclable materials and are recyclable themselves.
Injection Molded
• The Divided Lidded protectors are designed to fit in the basket with the lid on. When the lid is removed, there is gap around the basket.
• Check the bottom of each protector for care.
• Made with food-grade safe recyclable materials and are recyclable themselves.

Longaberger Baskets® Metal Components

Features
• Tacks, tags, rivets, tack covers and snaps are made of solid cast or formed metals.
• Some are finished with electronic finishes (brushed nickel) or natural minerals (copper).

Benefits
• Metal components allow for more personalization, interest and fun.
• Metal components are selected based on durability, performance and reaction to stain.

Care
• Gently clean with mild soap and water.
• Dry with a clean cloth.
• For stain build-up on copper rivets, a high grade of sandpaper (200 grit or higher) is recommended when mild soap and water is ineffective. Sanding is not recommended on other metal rivets.

Good Things to Know
• Metals will vary in color and appearance due to tooling and sourcing.
• Tack heads react to tannins in hardwoods, causing a darkness on the wood around the head.

Longaberger Baskets® Leather Attachments
Features
• Made from durable, tanned hides.
• The primary color is Chocolate Brown with contrasting Warm Brown, Rich Brown or Deep Brown to complement the stain of the basket.
• Other colors are available to support feature and expanded lines.

Benefits
• Leather is a natural material that wears over time, yielding a more flexible, natural feel.

Care
• Apply a small amount of saddle soap to a soft cloth to clean.
• Follow with a damp clean cloth.
• Finish with a leather conditioner for best results and extended life.
